Crime of Nancy Videla: they arrested a nephew of the main defendant

Personnel from the Lomas de Zamora DDI of the Buenos Aires Police arrested a nephew of Damián Lezcano Mendoza , the main defendant for the femicide of Nancy Videla , the young woman whose body was found last Friday under a cement subfloor in a house of Engineer Budge after six days of searching.

According to police sources reported to Infobae , the house of Lezcano Mendoza where the body was found was raided, located at 2,531 Bucharest Street in the town of Lomas de Zamora , with the aim of arresting a 29-year-old young man. years identified as Claudio Andrés Lezcano.

There, the members of the DDI together with the Homicide Division of the City Police did not find the man in question, however they received the information that the wanted person would be hiding in an address on Eustaquio Bruix street in Rafael Castillo, La Slaughter.

Then, the security forces went to the place and found Lezcano when he arrived at the place. According to information sources from the investigation to Infobae , A nephew's cell phone was found at Engineer Budge's house.

It was one of four cell phones seized in the search of the house where Nancy's body was found. In said operation, women's underwear and a bucket with water and bleach where there were clothes with stains were also found.

So far the investigation did not contemplate accomplices of the crime. Only the 70-year-old man was targeted, identified in the neighborhood as a harasser of women , who operated a tenancy in his house who, once arrested , refused to testify.

Until last week, the involvement of a second suspect was ruled out. The woman who lived in the tenement that Lezcano operated in his house on Bucharest Street and who was found in a bus station heading to Entre Ríos was not considered a suspect in the judge's calculations. She believes that, for now, she would not have knowledge of the crime or participation in the femicide. Until today, she is considered a witness and not a defendant .

For his lawyers, Lezcano Mendoza was arrested as a "parsley" in the file. They asked for her release, which was denied by Diego Slupski , the judge who believes that the man tried to sexually assault Nancy and, failing to do so, killed her, a femicide criminis causa.

This week, Slupski, being an investigating judge from Buenos Aires, declared his incompetence in the case due to a jurisdictional issue. The file could be sent to the courts of Lomas de Zamora, where it is believed that the act was committed. With Slupski currently on leave, the case was in charge of Judge Javier Sánchez Sarmiento, with the action of prosecutor Marcelo Munilla Lacasa, who was in charge of investigating the case from the beginning.

The results of swabs on Nancy's body are still awaited, to find evidence that may point to consummated sexual abuse or rule it out.

The 31-year-old girl had been missing since November 26, she had been seen for the last time in an apartment in Palermo where she worked. Then, through different security cameras, it was confirmed that the Roca train was taken in Constitución and that a bus was taken in Lanús to go to her house in Lomas de Zamora.

There were no more traces of her until an anonymous call pointed to Damián Lezcano's house. The security forces proceeded to the raid and on Thursday at the last minute, after breaking a subfloor built a few days ago, they found the woman's body.

On Friday, her body underwent an autopsy, which indicated that her cause of death was a fracture or head trauma from a strong blow to the head.
