Huércal de Almería launches a campaign to collect essential products for La Palma

The City Council of Huércal de Almería has launched a campaign to collect basic necessities to help the residents of the island of La Palma affected by the eruption of the volcano, becoming the first city council in the province to provide this emergency aid.

Together with Jusapol Social, the Huércal de Almería City Council has created a team to collect belongings to obtain the necessary help for the affected people, which will be at the local Social Center for the Elderly, from Monday to Friday during business hours. 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the morning and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the afternoon.

Among the essential products that can be provided are non-perishable food; hygiene products for all ages; underwear for men and women, socks and footwear of all sizes; bedding, pillows and all kinds of pet products.

The La Palma volcano erupted on September 19 and since then more than 200 houses have been destroyed and more than 6,000 people have been evacuated, so any kind of cooperation is necessary to help these affected people.
