In Michoacán six out of ten women victims of femicide are mothers of at least one minor, 80 percent of orphans witnessed femicide and there is no follow-up to indirect victims, Tamara Sosa Alanis said.
Because of these figures, the Secretary for substantive Equality and Development of Michoacan Women (Seimuz) announced that the Fund for indirect Victims will be created, "as it is of the utmost importance to provide emotional, legal and psychological support, as well as support and follow-up through a welfare environment to have a positive impact on the lives of families," she said.
She pointed out that, with the adoption of budget 2022, Seimuz would create such a support fund, which was also in addition to other activities that had been promoted in the units, such as collaboration agreements between the business sector and the various institutions of the executive branch.
This is in order to have a comprehensive impact on more families who are indirect victims of femicide, which covers all sectors of society.
