A study by the European Federation of Motorcyclist Associations (FEMA) demonstrates that 90% of drivers have no intention of moving to electric propulsion motorcycles despite the prohibitions planned by 2035.

To carry out this study, the FEMA conducted an online survey in the months of July and August 2021 on motorcycle emissions, possible prohibitions and energy changes that we will suffer in the future. The survey, available in 12 languages, was completed by a total of 23.768 people, of which 1.188 were women and 22.580 were men.

The study began with a question as simple as: "What do you think of a possible prohibition of the sale of new motorcycles with gasoline engine?"reflecting that 92.91 percent of respondents would reject the ban. Some data that the association itself explained that if it was broken down by countries within the European Union, it would not fall from 80%.

But the study has revealed even more interesting data that are rabid today and that concern us all.For example, compared to the survey that has already carried out the same association in 2016, it can be seen that a larger motorcyclist group would be willing to buy a new motorcycle if the entrance to the city of motorcycles prior to 2006 was prohibited (55.46 in 2021 compared to 44% of 2016).

In addition, of respondents, more than 44% would consider another mode of transport if such prohibition occurred. This could be an even greater problem when they decide to prohibit the entrance to the city of gas -driven vehicles, because in that case more than 76% of respondents would change their mode of transport instead of changing a motorcycle without emissions (electric / pile made out of fuel). It has also reflected such curious data as the rejection of paying more for an electric motorcycle than by a conventional one with a majority of 88.75%.

Another of the worrying conclusions that the study has reflected is that 53.38% of the participants said it would stop circulating on a motorcycle if the sale of new combustion motorcycles was prohibited, instead of passing to one of zero emissions. In fact, only 38.96 % of respondents would buy one of zero emissions when there were no gasoline motorcycles (both new and used), and only 7.67 % would buy it when there are still gasoline motorcycles available.

The data of this survey does not vary much if we break them down by age groups. In fact, despite thesame issues. If you want to take a complete eye to the study, we leave you here the link to all the data.
