La Habana, 19 dic.- Con un nuevo DVD concebido desde el dibujo animado el baterista cubano Horacio (El Negro) Hernández recorrerá las sonoridades más autóctonas de la música nacional, tomando como punto de partida la clave cubana.
Hernández, recognized as one of the hundred best instrumentalists in the history of the Drums, stars in the adventures of Dr. Tambor.This audiovisual, which will carry the seal of the Musical Editions and Editions Company (EGREM), seeks to catch the attention of adults and infants, musicians or not.
About his claims with this material, the percussionist commented on a press conference: “These last two years have been very difficult for humanity, and with this audiovisual I want people to enjoy, laugh and learn, but, above all, thank youFor life ".
Un maestro consagrado
Reference for those who begin in the study of the battery in Cuba and in other countries,
Hernández considers that the animated series represents an opportunity to gather the child and adult who live in it.
"I try to link the experiences of more than 30 years trying to teach Cuban rhythmic in the world, concluding that we always have to return to the child, the most elementary, basic and fun," he said.
However, he clarified that although the material is based on a visuality and language apparently aimed at children's audiences, its message covers people of all ages.
Likewise, the artist stressed that the series The Adventures of Dr. Tambor will be “a gift for music fans, who can appreciate the evolution of an instrument originally from the United States and how he has occupied important spaces in Cuban music”.
On the possibilities offered by the animated, the charismatic instrumentalist valued: "It is very nice to star in such a material, because it offers me the possibility of communicating from the innocence of children".
He added: "The animated one gives the justification to fly, to dream and to say what one believes that it may sound very childish, although said by a doll is not received the same as if an adult would say it".
Horacio Hernández is a member of the Technical Percussion Institute of Los Angeles, California, in the United States, and director of the Kosa International workshops, organization responsible for promoting the learning of percussion worldwide.

In the realization of Dr. Tambor's adventures, other prestigious music and audiovisual arts participate.Among them, one of the most experienced stands out in general production: Enrique Carballea.
About this work the producer said: "In this material we are playing that Horacio touches the battery, while the whole team is based on the magical effect he produces while executing it, while teaching the Cuban rhythms from the drums".
He also pointed out that it is a new experience for Cuba and the Latin American region, "according to what we have found on the Internet, there is no background," he said.
Around 40 minutes of classes make each episode of the animated, which has a didactic function by sharing the knowledge of Hernández, a member of the Faculty of Music of the University of Berkeley, in the United States.
Very popular figures in Cuban dance music will also make their contributions to the audiovisual."It will be a pleasant surprise to recognize very common voices in the Cuban dance environment, although the faces will not appear in the material, there will only be the Dr. Tambor with different costumes and accessories in the episodes," said Carballea.
Dr. Tambor's adventures is done with the 2D and 3D animation technique.In charge of the graphic are Josué García Gómez and José Andrés Fumero Rojas.Sound engineer Alejandro Pulido Vilaseca supervises Sonora and Francesco Meliacini, Italian artist, assumes image design.
The audiovisual is in the process of production and its premiere is expected, in DVD format, next year.(2021)
