EL NUEVO DIARIO, DAJABON.- Soldiers belonging to the Specialized Corps for Land Border Security (Cesfront) detained a shipment of foreign clothing illegally introduced into the country this Thursday in Dajabón.
According to Cesfront, this occurred after arduous intelligence work, when the white Hyundai truck was stopped, which was driven by the named Martín Antonio Maldonado Acevedo, who was accompanied by the named Randy Alejandro Sanchez Nunez.
The institution explains in a press release, that when requisitioning the aforementioned vehicle, the agents discovered inside 23 bales of clothing without the corresponding permits from the DGA.
The inspection of the Truck was carried out in the presence of Lic. Evelin González, Dajabón Deputy Attorney General.
The detainees also seized several phones and cash, according to Cesfront.
The seized and the detainees are under the control of the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal purposes.
Recently, Cesfront also seized more than a hundred bales of clothing that were introduced from Haiti, for which case the truck driver was subjugated.
Brigadier General José Manuel Durán Ynfante, ERD, Director of Cesfront, assures that these operations will continue at the behest of Lt. General Carlos Luciano Diaz Morfa, ERD, Minister of Defense.
