Heat wave: a 56-year-old man died in the Ecological Reserve while doing physical activity

A man died this afternoon in the Ecological Reserve of the City of Buenos Aires after having decompensated while doing physical activity , sources consulted Infobae specified. The deceased was 56 years old and it is unknown if he suffered from previous conditions.

Around 3:45 p.m. , personnel from the 1 E Neighborhood Police Station of the City Police approached 1700 España Avenue, inside the Ecological Reserve, to assist a man who was decompensated.

Upon arrival at the scene, the officers confirmed that the man did not respond to the stimuli . In the following minutes, a SAME ambulance was present and the doctors confirmed the death of the 56-year-old man.

In the place was also a friend of the victim, who explained to the Police of the City of Buenos Aires that at the time of suffering the decompensation, the deceased was doing physical activity . Sources consulted indicated that it is unknown if the victim suffered from previous conditions or if he was taking any medication.

The event was recorded within the framework of a heat wave that affects the City and also an important part of the country. Just yesterday, during the day, in CABA the maximum temperature record recorded in the month of October was broken.

Faced with these high temperatures, the National Meteorological Service usually reminds the population of its recommendations: hydrate, reduce physical activity, do not expose yourself to the sun between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., wear light clothing and seek ventilated spaces.

According to the SMN Observatory in the City of Buenos Aires, at 4 p.m. this Wednesday the local temperature was 33.3 °C, with a wind chill of 34.7 °C. Also, the humidity was 42%.

A sudden heat wave affected the City of Buenos Aires on Tuesday and also impacted 17 provinces of the country, according to the National Meteorological Service. Before the heat wave registered in the country in the week, the National Meteorological Service had announced for today a yellow level alert for sectors of Buenos Aires, Córdoba, San Luis, Tucumán and Catamarca due to extreme temperatures . Also yellow level due to strong winds in Santa Cruz and Chubut.
