Jeans are one of the most popular garments because they never go out of style. Currently there is a wide variety of jeans, since they can be found in all colors and in a wide variety of styles, depending on whether or not they fit more closely to the leg.
What is the origin of jeans?
You have to go back to the 19th century to know what its origin was. On May 20, 1873, Jacob David and Levi Strauss, founder of the famous brand of jeans that bears his name, registered a US patent on the process of placing rivets on men's work pants.
Everything was as a result of a worker asking Jacob to make him a pair of pants that would not break. That's when he got the idea to put metal rivets on stress points like the corners of the pockets and the base of the fly. Such was the success of the garment, that he ended up associating himself with Levi, who was the one who had sold him the fabric with which he made the pants.
What is the small pocket of the jeans for?
One of the mysteries surrounding jeans is related to the small pocket that exists inside the right front pocket. What is it for? According to the Levis website, its mission was to protect the pocket watches of the time, which were characterized by being very small and carrying a hanging metal chain called a fob.
