Shimano Iberia is proud to announce the collaboration agreement with the BH Templo Cafés mountain biking team, the most successful team on the national scene, with two Olympic medalists, European champions and Spanish champions in the different MTB disciplines in its ranks .

The agreement that has been signed between Shimano and the BH Templo Cafés Team has an initial duration of three years with the main objective of being able to support and work with the runners for the next Olympic Games that will be held in Paris in 2024.

Shimano is very satisfied with the inclusion in this project, and considers it a good time to demonstrate the potential of its brand within MTB and offer the team all possible tools to facilitate their work and allow them to be completely focused on competition.

The BH Templo Cafés team will equip their bikes with the renowned XTR R9100 groupset, the fastest, lightest and most precise groupset of the Japanese brand. In addition, the team will also use the Belgian helmet brand Lazer, which, with more than 100 years of history, protects the heads of the most important cyclists on the international scene.

For this first year, all team members will use the Lazer Genesis model for XC and the Lazer Jackal for all-mountain or electric bike training.

Finishing off the gear section, riders will also be able to put all the power to the Shimano pedals with the Shimano Sphyre XC902 shoes, Shimano's no-holds-barred competition model whose main features are fit, stiffness and lightness.

For Shimano Iberia it is very important to be close to and support the development of the new generations, of the cyclists of the future. For this reason, the agreement also includes a complete action plan to support and promote the different initiatives of the three schools (La Rioja, La Nucía and Baza) that the BH Templo Cafés have distributed throughout the national geography with more than 300 participants.

In this promotion and support plan for new talents, Shimano will also be an important pillar within the Co-Factory team, offering the same coverage and providing the same material as the elite team.

According to Bruno Prieto, Country Manager of Shimano Iberia “being part of the most ambitious MTB project in our country is a clear reason for satisfaction, but at the same time it is a great challenge. Our main objective is to strengthen the structure of the team and support cycling, both professional and grassroots, with a special focus on the discipline of mountain biking”

Shimano is excited about this new alliance within the MTB of our country and will closely follow the professional and personal achievements of this team during the following seasons.
