The resurrection of Henry Cavill's Superman in Zack Snyder's Justice League has given us something to talk about these days. Fortunately, Zack Snyder made his version permanently abolish the scenes in which Cavill undergoes his well-known (and singing) mustache removal through CGI. On this occasion, the focus of attention was on the black suit that the superhero decided to use. A new outfit that has a whole story behind it.
In the comics, Superman's black suit served as an energy conduit for Kal-El to regain his full strength upon his return to life. However, Snyder used this change to offer a new arc in the plot of the Kryptonian superhero.

In addition to purely logistical matters, since the superhero had suffered serious damage to his suit in his death in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Snyder brought a much deeper new meaning to his new clothing. The director has explained that the use of this black suit was a redoubt of the character's journey in his recovery from the classic blue and red suit, to which he would have returned in the sequels, and that it would be the end of his arduous journey.
For his part, the costume designer was also very happy with this opening towards new costumes. "I was excited about the idea of the black Superman suit because I knew it would be amazing if we actually used some elements that we had already created with the regular suit: we made the undersuit even more metallic than before, and it shone dramatically through the mesh," highlights Michael Wilkinson. "All these tweaks ensured that a monochrome Super Suit was anything but boring!" The truth is that we love to see Superman dressed in new suits, which bring us the essence of DC comics.
